History
Our story.
The Eva de-Heer memorial foundation was officially founded in 2024 in Ghana by Juliana von Stackelberg, followed by the Förderverein Eva de-Heer memorial foundation e.V. in Germany to support the original one based in Ghana.
Mrs. von Stackelberg’s lifelong passion for early childhood education has always been evident to those around her, however she felt there was more she could do for the children in need, which eventually led to the founding of this non-profit organisation.
Words from our founder
I am Juliana von Stackelberg, born and raised in a town called Komenda in Ghana. I have lived in Germany since 2004 where I furthered my education as an early childhood educator.
Education has always carried a significant importance and zeal for my family since my father
was a primary school teacher and headmaster.
Having experienced severe hardships with many others during my elementary and secondary education in Ghana – some of whom were forced to drop out with no proper career path and thus, no financial stability till date – my heart bleeds for the
less privileged children and youth who cannot at all or just barely afford education. I
see a future which is plagued with crises and an inescapable cycle of poverty for
these young people.
Thus, I voluntarily began privately providing support for some close relatives and non-relatives who
needed it. Before I could count, more than ten people in my community had
earned either a formal education or a professional trade with mine and my husband’s
support alone.
Since there are still a lot more of such cases and our capacity is exhausted, I decided
to register a foundation with some friends to solicit for support to give scholarships, hope and the right to education to such young underprivileged individuals to help them fight poverty through education.
